Need and Opportunity
India needs far more cross-cultural workers than the Indian churches can realistically provide. India receives only 6% of the world’s full-time Christian workers. It is imperative that national missionaries are trained and sent out as they are better suited to reach their communities and fulfill the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ. About 400 million people in India have never heard the name of Jesus; hearts are open to the Good News like never before. The harvest is plenty and laborers are few.
How it works
The vision for Southern Asia Leadership Institute (SALI) is to train and develop leaders; a generation of leaders with a heart for worship of a true God, leaders with character and integrity and commitment to serve the Lord in their own communities. The Institute established in Coimbatore, South India, offers a three year degree program in theological and leadership studies and a two-year diploma in missions. The students, many of whom are new in their faith, stay on campus for the duration of their study.
